National Festival of the Aborigine in Bertioga

If you have not been impressed by Brazilian culture before, then this event will blow your mind!!!!!

Can you imagine, the BIGGEST ABORIGINAL CULTURAL EVENT IN THE WORLD!!!!

Currently, in Brazil, there are 220 differet aboriginal ethnic groups who speak 180 different languages. Approx there are 370 thousand indigenous ppl n Brazil nowadays, which is 2% from a total population. Imagine, before Portuguese and Spanish ppl came, the whole land (100%) was populated by indigenous ppl!!!

It was a great event for getting to know ethnic groups, their dances, rituals, songs, a way of living. 13 different ethnic groups were present: for some of them it took 3 days to travel to reach festival place; for some it was the first time out from their community, frst time to see electricity...

An amazing place for getting deeper into Brazilian culture! The next festival is in April 2008:)
