The worst experience ever!
To start off, there are very FEW bad experiences I have lived through while my stay in Brazil. So, not to be too long in introduction, here comes a story.
During the weekend, one of my ear stopped to function properly, this is to say, I could not hear anything with my one ear. As I was out of the city, I could only go to see a doctor on Monday, after 2 days of feeling dizzy and sick.
As I do not have a local insurance here, I went to a private hospital for a doctor’s visit.
So, what happened: after waiting for 1 hour I finally got to see a doctor. Aee! And then it occurred that a doctor does not have a proper instrument to make a medical examination, the instrument had got broken the week before. 15 more minutes were spent on waiting as they went to look for this instrument in a hospital.
Finally, after more than 1 and half hour waiting, they told me that they cannot attend me! And this happened in a PRIVATE hospital!!!!
Luckily, nearby, there was another private hospital. I got my registration and my attendance. I had to buy some medicines and everything should be back to normal on few daysJ
Let`s hope for the best!
I am soo grateful to Juli who accompanied me during this time!!!
Such small things, bad services (Public AND Private), not striving for better conditions, are just some of the things I as a foreigner have experienced. And IT IS sad, cause in this way, these countries will never be developed…
And I for sure, do not want to spend my whole life living in such conditions!

Hey Petunia! Incredible! we are connected! I had the same problem with my hear this week.. It hurts a lot! Anyway, I visited the public hospital and the difference with your story is that I had a quick attention. The only strange thing (rather disgusting) was to find blood in the floor of the hospital... Again you can realize we are made to be together all our life!! hahahaha
